 Business First

The health of our local employers is key to the region's economic vitality. Over 80% of our new job opportunities come from existing business - that’s why we launched an economic development initiative to focus on face-to-face interviews with executives of our local businesses.
Our goal is to understand your needs, address your immediate concerns, and build strategies to solve long term regional barriers to profitability. We are now utilizing an intuitive software solution that connects you to a team of direct assistance providers today while watching for trends that affect your business in the long run.

Our existing business program is designed to provide you with a single point of contact to help you find solutions for today’s business issues.

1.  Share Your Story - Schedule an interview with a development professional from your community. The meeting will include a comprehensive conversation about the past, present, and future plans for your business.

2.  Connect With the Resources Your Business Needs Today – Based on the unique needs of your business, your local development office will work to quickly connect you to the right resources and information in the network. Don’t need anything today? You’ll have a relationship with an advocate if a need arises in the future.

3.  Help Build a Better Business Community - Your voice becomes one of hundreds as business leaders from throughout the region share their opinions and attitudes about doing business in the area. This information will help policy leaders better understand the business environment and give them information to help remove barriers to business growth.

We will be your single point of contact to a group of assistance providers at the state, regional and local level. Areas in which we can provide resources and/or assistance are:

Incumbent Workers
New Hires
Employee Recruitment

Government Procurement

Tech Transfer & Commercialization
Manufacturing Extension
Agricultural Extension
