FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 20, 2019

Update on winter weather conditions February 20, 2019 at 8 a.m.

The City of Charlottesville remains under a Winter Storm Warning until 10 p.m. tonight

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - The City of Charlottesville remains under a Winter Storm Warning until 10 p.m. tonight.

CURRENT CONDITIONS

Overnight, all streets in the City received pre-treatment. Plowing on primary roads began early this morning and will continue throughout the day as needed. Roads currently have a couple inches of slushy snow with asphalt visible in spotty locations. Plowing has also begun on secondary roads and will also continue throughout the day as needed.

Stay off the snowy and icy roads if possible, but if you have to go out remember: Ice and snow, take it slow—slower speed, slower acceleration, slower steering, and slower braking. #WinterSafety
