Charlottesville Parks & Recreation Updated Closures due to COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA -Charlottesville Parks & Recreation has updated its list of facility closures due to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) effective March 16, 2020. These closures will remain in effect until at least March 27. Charlottesville Parks & Recreation and the City of Charlottesville will monitor the situation and make an assessment on when it is safe to re-open some or all of the affected facilities.


• All Indoor Recreation Centers and Pools

• Downtown Administration Office

• Park Restrooms

• Meadocreek Golf Course

• Charlottesville Skate Park


• All outdoor parks and trails.

Parks and trails remain open for now, however, staff cannot sanitize benches, playgrounds or other structures, so use with caution and follow CDC guidelines.

Users who do visit one of the open parks or facilities are encouraged to assist in helping reduce the potential spread of the virus by; staying home if you are not feeling well or sick, washing your hands with soap and hot water for 20 seconds, wiping down surfaces after use and avoiding close contact with other users.
