Winneba Way Honorary Street Renaming Celebration

Signage honoring our sister city Winneba to be unveiled Saturday, March 7 at 4:30 p.m

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - The Ghana Association of Charlottesville and the City of Charlottesville invite the public and media to a ceremony to unveil the honorary street signs for Winneba Way being placed on 6 1/2 Street SW in honor of our thriving Sister City partnership with Winneba, Ghana.

The unveiling will occur at the corner of 6 1/2 St SW & Cherry Ave in Fifeville at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2020.

After the unveiling, attendees will be invited to proceed along the street to the Tonsler Park Community Center where the celebration of Ghana’s 62nd Anniversary of Independence will take place. Food will be provided, free of charge, by the Ghana Association of Charlottesville.
