City Accepting Unity Days Event Applications; Openings on Unity Days Committee

Unity Days 2020 will take place August 1-12, 2020

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - The City of Charlottesville and the Unity Days Committee are calling on community members, organizations, and groups to propose event and programming ideas for Unity Days 2020 taking place August 1-12,2020 and to serve on the Unity Days Committee.

What is Unity Days?

Charlottesville City Council has designated the second weekend of August (and August 12 when it falls during the week) for the annual Unity Days events as the anniversary of the events of August 11-12, 2017. During Unity Days the Charlottesville community comes together in a spirit of healing and unity for a variety of events that educate, inspire, and honor people in our community in order to move towards economic and racial justice.

These city-sponsored, community-driven events focus on the theme of unity, and include musical performances, speakers, conversations, children’s activities, films, exhibits, festivals, faith-based gatherings, and more. These events take place at venues throughout downtown Charlottesville.

When is Unity Days 2020?

Unity Days events will occur primarily during August 1-12, 2020
