Application Deadline is December 6, 2019 at 5 p.m.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - On November 4, 2019, the Charlottesville City Council established the Charlottesville Police Civilian Review Board. The Charlottesville City Council is currently accepting applications for individuals interested in serving on the Police Civilian Review Board.

The Board’s membership will include three City of Charlottesville residents who come from historically disadvantaged communities that have traditionally experienced disparate policing or who are residents of public housing.

The Board’s membership will also include an individual who resides or works in the City and who represents an organization that seeks racial or social justice on behalf of historically disadvantaged communities.

Additionally, the Board’s membership will include three City of Charlottesville residents who are not City of Charlottesville employees, candidates for public office, former members of the Charlottesville Police Department, immediate family members of a current Charlottesville Police Department employee, or current law enforcement agency employees.

Finally, the Board’s membership will include one non-voting member who has policing expertise or experience.

Interested individuals are encouraged to apply by clicking on the following link www.charlottesville.org/boards.

The deadline for applications to be considered is December 6, 2019 at 5 p.m. The Charlottesville City Council will conduct interviews of prospective candidates in closed session on December 16, 2019.
