Charlottesville appoints Michele Vineyard as Director of Human Resources

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - City Manager Tarron Richardson announces the appointment of Michele M. Vineyard as the City's Director of Human Resources.

Vineyard was most recently Director of Human Resources for the City of Roanoke.

Vineyard received a master's degree in Liberal Arts, Social Science concentration from Hollins University and her undergraduate degree is from Averett University in Business Administration.

"We are extremely fortunate to have such a qualified and experienced professional joining our team as the new Human Resources Director," said Richardson.Vineyard's career includes service in the City of Salem as Assistant Director of Human Resources and at AFLAC where she was a Training Supervisor.

Ms. Vineyard also served in the U.S. Air Force as a Munitions Operations Specialist.

"My 25-year work history, with over 16 years in Virginia local government, has led me to serve in a variety of diverse roles in training, organizational development, and human resources management," said Ms. Vineyard. "I look forward to joining the community in Charlottesville and to professionally managing and developing our workforce."

Vineyard will report to Deputy City Manager Letitia Shelton and she started her service in the City of Charlottesville on October 21, 2019.
