The Charlottesville Alliance for Black Male Achievement (BMA) will be hosting a film premiere of the Documentary "A Different Side..." on Thursday, September 19 at the Martin Luther King Jr. Performing Arts Center at 6:30 p.m.
This documentary, in collaboration Light House Studios, was filmed, edited and produced in six weeks by local Charlottesville area teens this summer through the Community Attention Youth Internship Program (CAYIP).
"A Different Side..." created by Chase, Connor, Corey, Lewis and Travis, showcases the extraordinary talents of young black men in Charlottesville and seeks to alleviate the misconceptions that is often perceived of black boys in today's society. In addition to creating and filming the documentary, these local teens also composed their own original score of music for the film which is unprecedented given their age and experience.
