Black Mental Health: Racism, Stigma, and the Impact on Health

Participants will hear information about the history and intersection of racism and mental health stigma in the black community, as well as information about disparities in health by local neighborhoods, and how they are shaped by structural racism. Participants will then hear about local efforts to, and engage providers in learning and organizational changes to provide culturally responsive mental health services. There will be a variety of organizations that provide racially sensitive mental health services that will be tabling, for participants to visit while refreshments are served after the presentation.
