Unity Days Event: Film Premiere and Public Art Project

  • Date: 08/29/2019 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
  • Location: The Paramount

The Film, "3rd Street – Best Seats in the House", and the photos on the 3rd Street side of The Paramount, will bring attention to the history of segregation in our community, using segregation at The Paramount as a specific example. The intent of the documentary and the installation is to give voice to African Americans who remember attending movies and events at The Paramount in their youth. Both art forms will allow black citizens of Charlottesville to share their stories from the time of segregation with future generations.
