In order to best prepare members of public boards and commissions in Charlottesville, The Virginia Coalition for Open Government and Smart Cville is partnering with the City of Charlottesville to offer a public forum on the Virginia Freedom of Information Act . The specific purpose of the public forum is to better arm those serving on boards and commissions with knowledge regarding this important law. The larger objective of the session will be to foster a spirit of transparency and openness among public boards and commissions in order to improve civic engagement and trust.
