Posted Date: 7/2/2012

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - The City's Public Works Department will conduct a free storm debris collection from last Friday's storm beginning Monday, July 9th. The free collection is being offered in the areas of the City that were most affected by the storm (pink shaded areas on the zoning map CLICK HERE).

  • The collection includes tree and tree debris from the June 29th storm only
  • Debris must be moved to the street edge for collection
  • Construction material does not qualify for the collection
  • Contractors are responsible for the removal of any tree debris they handle

Residents who live outside of the free collection areas may request an onsite evaluation to determine if their home qualifies for a free collection. Please contact 970-3895 to schedule an evaluation.

Residents who do not qualify may schedule a special collection through the City's Large Item Pick-up Program. The program allows citizens to schedule a debris collection for $25.

Appointments may be scheduled online at www.charlottesville.org/publicservice or in person at the City Treasurer's Office in City Hall.
