Posted Date: 8/9/2013
The City of Charlottesville is partnering with the African American Pastors Council, Charlottesville City Schools, and other organizations in holding a Back to School Rally and Celebration on Saturday, August 17 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Ntelos Wireless Pavilion on the downtown mall. Other participating organizations include City of Promise and Helping Young People Evolve (HYPE).

The day will feature entertainment, sports physicals, haircuts and hairdos, displays and booths, and a distribution of school supplies, while supplies last. Immunizations will be given at the Key Center on that date as well. All activities are free. A parent or guardian must be present with children to receive supplies.

Donations of supplies are being accepted at Mount Zion First African Baptist Church, 105 Lankford Avenue, or Ebenezer Baptist Church, 113 Sixth St. NW, during office hours. For more information, contact Michelle Christian at 970-3267.
