Community Development Block Grant and HOME Funding—4th Year Action Plan, 11-12: The Planning Commission and City Council are considering the 4th year Action Plan of the multi-year Consolidated Plan which sets forth projects to be undertaken utilizing CDBG & HOME funds for the City of Charlottesville. In fiscal year 11-12 it is expected that the City of Charlottesville will receive approximately $533,500 for Housing and Community Development needs and $126,000 in HOME funds for affordable housing from HUD. CDBG funds will be used in the City to conduct housing rehabilitation, assist low and moderate income homebuyers, and improve access and housing for persons with disabilities, as well as to fund several programs that benefit low and moderate income citizens and the homeless population. HOME funds will be used to assist first time homebuyers and rehabilitate housing. Report prepared by Melissa Thackston, Grants Coordinator.
ZT-11-01-01 – (Music Hall) An ordinance to amend and reordain Sections 34-156 to 34-184 (Special Use and Provisional Use Permits), Section 34-480 (Commercial Use Matrix), Section 34-796 (Mixed Use Matrix), Sections 34-1170 to 34-1174 (Standards for Provisional Uses), and Section 34-1200 (Definitions),of the Zoning Ordinance of the Code of the City of Charlottesville, 1990, as amended, to change the permit types required for music halls in the following zoning classifications: B-1, B-2 and B-3 Business, M-I, Industrial Corridor, Downtown, Downtown Extended, West Main North, West Main South, Corner District, Water Street, Urban Corridor, South Street, Central City and Highway Corridor. SP-11-03-02 – (1417 Emmet Street) An application for a special use permit for a music hall at 1417 Emmet Street. The property is further identified on City Real Property Tax Map 40 Parcel 1.4 having frontage on Emmet Street and Earhart Street. The site is zoned URB Urban Corridor and is approximately 0.811 acres or 35,327 square feet. The Land Use Plan generally calls for Commercial.
