The 2011 Charlottesville Community Spring Job Fair was a huge success! The job fair, which is the largest of its kind in Central Virginia, hosted more than 200 recruiters from 90 companies and 10 community resource agencies. A wide variety of industries such as healthcare, retail, government, hospitality, social services, staffing, and education were represented. Most of the area’s largest employers participated in the event, including State Farm, UVA, and Martha Jefferson Hospital. Approximately 2,000 job seekers attended the fair throughout the day, with approximately 60 percent coming from the Charlottesville area.
Due to the success of last year's job fairs and the community's employment needs, we will be holding another job fair this fall. And, we are once again anticipating a large turnout from employers and job seekers alike! Employment resources for job seekers such as help with interviewing skills, resume writing, and dressing professionally will be available onsite. So, if you are an employer in search of qualified applicants or a job seeker looking for career opportunities, you are not going to want to miss this!
The 2011 Charlottesville Community Fall Job Fair is being presented by the City of Charlottesville in partnership with the County of Albemarle, the Department of Rehabilitative Services, OAR, National College, the International Rescue Committee, the Adult Learning Center, the Virginia Employment Commission, the Piedmont Workforce Network, and the Virginia Workforce Network. Monster.com and the Daily Progress will serve as Honorary Co-Hosts of the event. For more information about this event, please contact Hollie Lee at (434) 970-3117 or EMAIL US.
