In 2005 the City of Charlottesville embarked on a new Strategic Planned guided by the community with assistance from city staff.  It was begun with "In Our Backyard" community meetings to solicit neighborhood involvement in identifying key areas of focus for the city between 2006 and 2011.  Working regionally along with the Charlottesville City Schools and other are jurisdictions, the effort will continue into the rest of the year before presenting a final plan to City Council.  The public is encouraged to be a part of this important effort and to use this web page to keep informed of public meetings and relevant information as part of the year long process.
