Charlottesville Police Department Memorial Page

On April 16h, 2002 Lt. Robert E. (Bob) Frazier, Jr. passed away due to a heart attack. Lt. Frazier’s death occurred while attending the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Sharon, 3 sons, and l daughter.

Lt. Frazier was a 21-year veteran of the organization serving in the capacity of Shift Commander of Patrol Bureau and was recently assigned as Commander of the Jefferson Area Drug Enforcement Unit which covers the City of Charlottesville, Albemarle County, and the University of Virginia. Included in this unit are Federal agencies - DEA, ATF and the FBI, along with the Virginia State Police.

For many law enforcement officers across the Commonwealth of Virginia, Lt. "Bob" Frazier was well known as Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) Commander for the Charlottesville Police.
