The purpose of the Building Codes is to establish the minimum requirements to safeguard the public health, safety, and general welfare through structural strength, means of egress facilities, stability, sanitation, adequate light and ventilation, energy conservation and safety to life and property from fire and other hazards attributed to the built environment and to provide safety to fire fighters and emergency operations.
Effective July 14th, 2015 all applications for a permit must comply with the provisions of the 2012 code editions and/or 2011 edition of National Electrical Code.
All other permits issued under the previous code editions are allowed to be completed following the requirements of said code editions.
