To apply, you will need to create an account and select a User name and Password. An email address is not required in order to complete your online application. However, if you do not have one, free email service is available through providers such as Yahoo (www.yahoo.com) or Hotmail (www.hotmail.com.) Important: If you provide an email address it should be for your use only. Do not let anyone else applying for a job use your email account.
You are now ready to create your application. The first time you apply may require 30 minutes or more to complete the process. You can save your work at any time and return to it later.
There are three parts to the application process:
1. Job Application - The application must be complete. You can attach a resume to your application but it is not a substitute for the information requested on the application form. Applications may be rejected if incomplete.
2. Agency-wide Questions – This information is used for statistical purposes only and is available only to Human Resources staff.
3. Supplemental Questions - You are required to complete these questions so that we may initially determine your eligibility for this position. This information will be used to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications for the job.
Once you have answered the Supplemental Questions, click on “Save & Proceed.” If you later need your answers for any reason, you will have them saved and will not need to recreate your work. We strongly recommend you click ‘save and continue’ frequently while completing your application in order not to lose information.
Your application will appear for you to review and edit as needed. When you are ready, click on “Confirm and Send Application.” The “Privacy Statement and Certificate of Applicant” will appear for you to either “Accept” or “Decline.” If you “Accept,” a message will appear thanking you for applying, and confirming that your application has been received. If you “Decline,” your application will not be processed. Please review your application to ensure that all required fields have been completed. If you do not receive a confirmation message, contact the Human Resources Department at (434) 970-3490 to confirm receipt.
Applications must be electronically received by the Human Resources Department no later than 5:00 p.m. of the close date in order to be considered. Some announcements have a continuous posting status and are open until filled.
If you have any questions pertaining to the online application process, please contact us.
