Charlottesville-Albemarle Rescue Squad Live-In Program
At Station 10, the Charlottesville-Albemarle Rescue Squad has four live-in members. These members are provided with free housing and a meal stipend in exchange for running extra shifts at the rescue squad.
The live-in program provides rescue squad members with a unique opportunity – being able to live in an active fire station. Residents of Station 10 have access to an expansive in-house gym, private lounge, commercial kitchen, and private off-street parking. The live-in members of the rescue squad have private rooms with plenty of storage, provided furniture including mini fridge, and their own pantry and fridge in the kitchen.
Residents also have an ambulance in-house that they may use to run emergency calls.
To participate in the live-in program, you must be a member of the rescue squad and be able to sign a live-in agreement for either 6 or 12 months.
