On June 2, 2014, the Charlottesville City Council adopted a comprehensive three-year Strategic Plan intended to serve as an organizational roadmap for the benefit of the City's residents, businesses and visitors.
The City will use the Strategic Plan to strengthen City operations and ensure that employees are working toward common goals by managing priorities, utilizing resources, measuring and assessing results, and adjusting the organization's direction in response to a changing environment.
The preparation of the plan included a thorough evaluation process involving input from the City Council, City Manager, department heads, City staff and the expertise of Zelos, Inc.
City of Charlottesville Strategic Plan:
To be one community filled with opportunity
To provide services and facilities that promote an excellent quality of life for everyone in our community
- ORGANIZATIONAL VALUES
- GOALS & OBJECTIVES
- ALIGNMENT WITH COUNCIL VISION 2025
- STRATEGIC PLAN IMPLEMENTATION
- PROGRESS REPORTS
This strategic planning process is the natural progression of the P3: Plan, Perform, Perfect initiative that staff began in 2008, which started to look at performance measures, data and department scorecards (scorecards found at www.charlottesville.org/measuresup).
