Charlottesville Area Transit Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Goal

In accordance with the U.S. Department of Transportation requirements set forth in 49 C.F.R., Part 26, as amended, Charlottesville Area Transit hereby notifies the public that it will continue utilizing an overall Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goal of 5.7% for the applicable goods and services procured by the agency. This goal was set and approved for the period beginning October 1, 2016 and ending September 30, 2019. 

Information and written comments pertaining to this goal and a description of how it was selected is available for inspection by the public for 30 calendar days following the publication date of this notice – public inquiry and inspection ends formerly on June 12, 2018. The public may request information on CAT’s DBE goal and methodology from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the City of Charlottesville Procurement and Risk Management Services Division, 325 4th Street NW, Charlottesville, VA.

Businesses may contact the City of Charlottesville’s DBE Liaison, Jennifer Stieffenhofer, at (434) 970-3860 or at purchasing@charlottesville.org for more information on contracting opportunities and on becoming a certified DBE vendor through the Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity at www.dmbe.virginia.gov.   All DBE firms are encouraged to participate in City of Charlottesville contracts. CAT’s Fiscal Year 2019 Program of Projects will be posted on or before July 1, 2018.
