The City of Charlottesville's annual Downtown Safe Halloween Festival will take place on Saturday, October 28, 2017 from 2:00pm - 5:00pm at the Sprint Pavilion.

A Special Meeting of the Charlottesville City Council was held October 11, 2017 at 4:15 pm at which time the City of Charlottesville approved drought warning stage restrictions for all City residents and businesses.

On October 11, Charlottesville Police received information from the FBI regarding an online threat. In response, CPD is coordinating with schools in the City and City Schools are operating in modified lockdown.

Charlottesville Parks & Recreation will present a Masquerade Ball on Saturday, October 14th, 2017 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Carver Recreation Center.
The pedestrian bridge on Dairy Road across the 250 Bypass has been open for a few weeks. Work on the road bridge will necessitate road closures.
