Route Guide Cover Aug 2014Welcome to Charlottesville Area Transit!
CAT provides bus service to the greater Charlottesville area. Riders enjoy safe, clean, and comfortable service Monday through Sunday.

We're Hiring! Drivers start at $14.88!

10/28 - Routes 3, 4, & 6  - Effective Tuesday, 10/28, Charlottesville Area Transit (CAT) will reroute Routes 3, 4, & 6 through the Willoughby Square Shopping Center. The current bus stop which is located in front of Food Lion will be relocated to the side of the building. For a map, click here.

The new routing alignments may cause slight delays to Route 4, particularly in the late afternoons when traffic flow increases. Passengers are encouraged to check CAT’s real-time information either by calling 434-970-3649 or by downloading CAT’s mobile app before making their way out to their CAT bus stop.

11/1 - Routes 4, 6, & 9 - Lane Rd near UVA hospital will be closed on Saturday, November 1.  Instead all three routes will use Lee St.

Routes 4 & 6 will travel north on Roosevelt Brown Blvd., take a left onto Crispell Dr., continue straight onto Lee St., and turn right onto Jefferson Park Ave. Route 4 will follow this pattern in both the outbound and inbound directions.

Route 9 will travel south on Roosevelt Brown Blvd., take a right onto Crispell Dr., continue straight onto Lee St., and turn right onto Jefferson Park Ave.

Passengers who typically wait for Routes 4, 6, & 9 at the Jordan Hall and UVA Hospital bus stops on Jefferson Park Avenue will need to wait at the University Transit Service's (UTS) bus stop on Lee Street.

The detour is expected to last all day.
