Transit Study Implementation Strategy
On March 18th, 2013, Nelson\Nygaard Consulting Associates presented their final recommendations to City Council (click here for a copy of the slide presentation).  In their presentation, they offered many suggestions to improve the service.  With their recommendations, feedback from the public, and "rubber to the road" testing, CAT has been working on an implementation strategy to improve system efficiencies and increase on-time performances.  CAT will be holding neighborhood meetings with local residents to discuss some of the strategies that will be used in the upcoming months.  For a listing of neighborhoods, meetings, and their times, please click here.

FREE Summer Youth Ride Program
Each summer, CAT offers a Youth Ride FREE program that is open to residents of the City of Charlottesville and Albemarle County. Thousands of students take advantage of unlimited access to convenient, environmentally-friendly public transit during the summer break.

The program goes into effect the first day of summer vacation and ends the day prior to the new school year. Students between the ages of 6 and 18 are eligible to participate. Simply show your school's student ID to ride. No ID? No worries, we'll provide you with a CAT ID. For details, click here .

Real-Time Information and 3rd Party Apps
It has come to our attention that smartphone users may not have reliable access to CAT’s real time information through their third party transit apps. While we love the added convenience of these apps, we have little to no control over their development. For reliable information, we recommend that users utilize our website or call our real-time information line at 434-244-5180. Again, we apologize about the inconvenience and recommend that you contact your app developer for further issues.
