Advancing Charlottesville Entrepreneurs (ACE) Grant Program
ACE Program Overview

The Office of Economic Development (OED) offers a program to assist existing City-based businesses. The ACE Grant Program is designed to assist small business owner(s) increase revenue and business capacity by collaborating with OED staff. During this partnership, a detailed business analysis and needs assessment will be completed. Using those tools as a foundation, the small business owner(s), with assistance from OED staff, will then implement a strategic plan to achieve custom outcomes and measures.

Small business owner(s) will have the opportunity to work with professionals offering specialized business services (e.g., webpage development, branding, accounting, etc.) and receive direct technical assistance funding. Enrollment in the ACE Program is expected to last approximately three months.

Initial funding for this program is provided from the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). Additional funding from the Charlottesville Economic Development Authority has allowed the program to be expanded.

Currently have a City of Charlottesville Business License
Have a physical address in the City of Charlottesville (P.O. Boxes are not accepted)
Be a for-profit business (non-profits are not eligible)
Be willing to become a registered vendor with the City of Charlottesville
