In February 2012, City Council created the Human Rights Task Force. The purpose of the Human Rights Task Force is to study the need for a Human Rights Commission in Charlottesville. During the next ten months, members of the task force will gather and analyze data, meet and dialogue with representatives from other human rights commissions, hold community forums and develop a set of recommendations for City Council to consider.
If you feel you have been subjected to discrimination, there are several ways for you to inform the Task Force of your complaint:
- Online Form
- Call 434-970-3050 (leave a message and a staff person will contact you within 48 hours)
- You can pick up a form in several places around City Hall and return it to the City Manager's Office
