In 2010, Charlottesville City Council approved a new community initiative called "Our Town Charlottesville" that would bring town hall style meetings to every City neighborhood throughout the year so that residents would be encouraged to discuss emerging issues and voice concerns and preferences about theirTownHall2 respective communities. Each meeting is attended by citizens, City Council and many other City officials, giving everyone a chance to talk personally in a relaxed, informal environment about the things which matter to them most.

Participating in a town hall meeting can be an excellent opportunity for people of all ages and backgrounds to bring their own perspectives and issues to the table. If you are new to the community, this can be a great way to meet residents and learn about the issues facing the community. If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact Clerk of Council Paige Barfield by email or call 434-970-3113.
