MadisonOver 376 units are managed for the exclusive use of low income families, seniors, and disabled individuals. Another 300 units of privately owned homes are available by the CRHA through the Housing Choice Voucher Program. For general information call (434) 326-4672.

Approximately 2,000 people live in affordable homes while contributing about 30% of their income towards rent.

    CRHA is announcing that we have deemed it appropriate and necessary to close the Housing Authority's Public Housing wait list effective Monday, March 10th, 2014, at 5:00 p.m. EST. Housing Authorities are permitted to close their wait list if they have an adequate pool of families to utilize expected vacancies for a reasonable period determined by the Housing Authority.

    The Housing Authority has received a National Merit Award from the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Agency Officials (NAHRO).

    The Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority will hold a Redevelopment Work Session on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at 5 p.m. at the Basement Conference Room, City Hall.

    Red arrow pointing to the right The Housing Opportunities Program (HOP) provides loans to cover the difference between what a family income qualifies them to purchase and the sale price.
    Green arrow pointing to the right Our Downpayment & Closing Costs Assistance Program assist low and moderate income households purchase homes by helping pay downpayment and closing costs.
    Blue Arrow pointing to the right The Housing Choice Voucher Home Ownership Program provides assistance services to low to moderate income eligible families who currently have Housing Choice vouchers. *This program is currently closed to new applicants.
