Mr. Jason Pearson
Ms. Genevieve Keller
Mr. Hosea Mitchell
Mr. Michael Osteen
Staff Present:
Mr. Jim Tolbert, AICP, Director NDS
Mr. Richard Harris, Deputy City Attorney
Ms. Missy Creasy, Planning Manager
Mr. Nick Rogers, Neighborhood Planner
Mr. Brian Haluska, Neighborhood Planner
Ms. Mary Joy Scala, Preservation Planner
The meeting began at 4:30pm.
Jason noted that the items for discussion at this meeting were committee assignments and clarity questions for the agenda. The commission reviewed each committee and noted who would serve in each capacity. It was noted that these will be reviewed again once a new member is appointed to replace Hosea this summer.
Cheri noted that the memo concerning the runoff presentation did not contain all the points highlighted in the materials received in the packet. It was noted that the presentation was revised after the memo was completed.
Gennie provided comments on the minutes noting details needed concerning some of the discussions.
Cheri asked for information on the memo submitted by a member of the public concerning Brookwood. Mary Joy responded to the question. Brian also added that the traffic engineer had reviewed the parallel spaces and noted they could be signed for 24 hour parking but enforcement would likely not occur. Mike F. concurred with this statement.
Mike F. noted that he did not like the large parking area and noted that shade trees were missing. Brian noted that the parking was to help address overflow from other phases of the development and that tree canopy had been met according to the code.
Mike F noted that he would like to pursue a code change that would require the shade trees to cover hard surfaces.
Jason asked the Commission to think about topics for future work sessions. Cheri noted that a review of the work plan established at the retreat would be a great topic.
The meeting ended at 5:22pm.
