SUMMER CAMPS
CAMP ExL 2013
Come have fun and grow with us this summer!
Charlottesville Parks and Recreation and Charlottesville City Schools’ CLASS program have teamed up again to bring you an exciting and fun summer camp experience. Our goal is to offer a comprehensive summer program that focuses on extended learning activities and fun recreational activities, programs and field trips. Participants will experience traditional camp activities, enrichment clubs, swimming, sports, active play, indoor and outdoor games, arts, crafts, nature and science. Also included is a nutritious breakfast and lunch provided by the USDA Summer Food Service Program.
Who
Open to all CCS students and Charlottesville residents
Children in Pre-K-3rd grades during the 2012-13 school year
(Pre-K students must have birth date prior to October 1, 2008)
What
Six one-week sessions

June 17- July 26, 2013 - 9am-4pm, Monday-Friday
Camps will be closed on Thursday, July 4th
*Starting date for Camp ExL is contingent on the last day of school for the Charlottesville City Schools*
Wraparound Care - 7:30-9am & 4-6pm

3 city elementary sites, TBD
Transportation
Busing will be offered at 8am and 4:15pm at select locations. Bus stops will be limited and will not be the same as the school bus stops during the year or during Summer School Bus stops cannot be changed.

Registration fee for all families: $5.00 per family
Under $35,000
· Free for the 9am-4pm time slot only
· Wraparound tuition: $27.00 per week, per child (7:30-9am & 4-6pm.)
Over $35,000
· Hours available 7:30am-6pm
· 10% discount for each additional child
· $60 deposit per child required for tuition paying families.

Pre-teen Camps-340802-01-04

Who:
Open to youth currently in grades 4th-6th during the 2012-2013 school year. Students enrolled in Walker summer school, band, orchestra, etc. must enroll at Walker Camp.

Camps will be closed on Thursday, July 4th
Wraparound Care
7:30-9:00am & 4:00-5:30pm M-F, for an additional fee. Campers must be enrolled in camp before enrolling in wraparound.

Carver Recreation Center and Walker School Gym
Transportation:
To and from Carver and Walker will be provided at 8am & 4pm. Stops will be limited and cannot be changed. If you plan to ride the bus, you must enroll in the camp closest to your home.

Teen Camp-340804-01 &02
Don't sit at home and be bored! Come to the Teen Center and hang out with friends and meet some new ones. We will be taking field trips through out the summer to various "cool" spots, in and around Charlottesville. Other activities include basketball, pool, roller skating, music, dancing, swimming, arts, crafts, sports and other recreational activities. Also included is a nutritious lunch, provided through the USDA Summer Food Service Program.

Open to youth currently in 7th-10th grades during the 2012-2013 school year.

Playground Camps-340805 & 340806-01-03
The three week Playground program is a supplement to our regular summer camp program, running after our 6 week camps let out. Playground dates are July 29-August 16, 2013 M-F 7:30AM-5:30PM at Key and Carver Recreation Centers. Campers will participate in extended learning activities, fun recreational activities, programs and field trips. Participants will also experience traditional camp activities, swimming, sports, active play, indoor and outdoor games, arts, crafts, nature and science. They will also receive a nutritious breakfast and lunch provided through the USDA Summer Food Service Program. Carver is open to youth currently in grades Pre K-3rd and Key is open to youth currently in grades 4th-8th.
Financial assistance is available through our Scholarship Policy.
