City Assessor

The Real Estate Assessor's Office is widely used by Realtors, attorneys, title search personnel, prospective homebuyers, sellers, private appraisers both local and out-of-town/state, and surveyors. We maintain history files of all parcels of land in the City, computerized current information specific to each parcel which includes: ownership, deed and plat references, ownership history, and specific house information. A sales research of neighborhoods can be done on our public computer in the Real Estate Assessor's front office. We also maintain location tax maps and produce the land ownership books for several City Departments, as well as The Virginia Department of Taxation.
