Charlottesville Skate Park and McIntire Park Pedestrian Bridge Grand Opening Celebration Saturday, April 20th

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - A ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening celebration for the Charlottesville Skate Park and McIntire Park Pedestrian Bridge will occur on Saturday, April 20, 9:00 am – 2:00 pm.

The event features a ribbon cutting ceremony for the pedestrian bridge at 9:30 am and the skate park at 10:00 am followed by a daylong event featuring street and bowl best trick contests, music, vendors, skating and more. The event is free and open to the public.

The Charlottesville Skate Park is located in McIntire Park East at 425 Route 250 Bypass, Charlottesville, VA 22902. Both the Skate Park and Pedestrian Bridge opened to the public on March 2, 2019.

Parking Information

West Entrance – Public parking is available at the McIntire Park softball fields, 1360 Rugby Avenue.

East Entrance – Public parking is available at the Charlottesville-Albemarle Rescue Squad, 828 McIntire Road.

Overflow Parking – Shuttle service will be provided every 20 minutes, 9:30 am – 2:30 pm from Charlottesville High School, 1400 Melbourne Road. The pick-up/drop-off location is the parking lot nearest the corner of Melbourne Road and Grover Court.
