CHARLOTTESVILLE POLICE OFFICER RECOGNIZED BY IACP

CPL. CHRIS HUBER SHOT DURING INCIDENT IN 2018

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - The Charlottesville Police Department is proud to announce Corporal Chris Huber was recognized with an award by the International Association of Chiefs of Police/Dupont KEVLAR Survivors Club on Thursday, January 24, 2019.

Huber was shot in the line of duty during an incident in 2018. He was wearing his department issued KEVLAR vest. The vest stopped the bullet from penetrating and potentially saved the officer’s life.

The Survivor’s Club serves to elevate the importance of wearing body armor for officer safety, and the ultimate goal is to reduce injury and death by encouraging officers to wear their personal body armor during every shift.

We are thankful for Huber’s service to the Charlottesville Police Department, and his sacrifice to keep our community safe.
