Update on winter weather conditions Sunday, January 13, 2019 at 8:30 a.m.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - The City of Charlottesville remains under a Winter Storm Warning until 6 p.m. tonight.

ROAD CONDITIONS

Please avoid driving until roads have been cleared, and use caution if you must travel. All roads in the City of Charlottesville were pre-treated Saturday. Crews are currently plowing on Primary and Auxiliary routes. Secondary routes will be plowed after Primary and Auxiliary routes have been cleared. Conditions will be assessed later today to determine the needs for tonight.

SERVICE DELAYS, ADJUSTMENTS, AND CLOSINGS

Due to the winter weather conditions Charlottesville Parks and Recreation will delay the opening of the Smith Aquatic and Fitness Center until 12 p.m. today, Sunday.

Charlottesville Area Transit (CAT) has adjusted its schedule as follows:

  • Route 2: service with detour -- At Wegmans, service Wegmans stop as normal, take a left to go back down the hill to 5th Street, right onto 5th Street down to Market Street, right onto Market to service the Downtown Station.
  • Route 9: cancelled
  • Trolley: normal service
  • Route 12: normal service
