Traffic Alert for Hillsdale Drive on Oct. 18-19, 2018

Milling and paving work to impact southbound Hillsdale Drive overnight Thursday

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - Flagging of traffic on southbound Hillsdale Drive between Greenbrier Drive and Seminole Square is scheduled for the evening of Thursday, October 18th for milling and paving operations. Work is expected to begin at 9 p.m. and will be complete by Friday, October 19th at 6 a.m.

To reduce ponding water and address a drainage issue, the existing pavement will be milled down and new pavement will be applied at the entrance to Seminole Square Shopping Mall whose tenants include Ebony Images, Super Shoes and Bounce Play-n-Create. Pavement markings will also be reapplied.

Variable Message Signs will be erected on Monday, October 15th to notify the public of the upcoming work. Traffic will be maintained on southbound Hillsdale Drive through flagging with slight delays expected.

A repair to the Shared Use Path on the eastern side of Hillsdale Drive (in front of Big Lots) will also be completed which will not impact vehicular travel.

Speed limit is posted at 25 MPH – please drive carefully.
