Fire Marshal's report on April 14, 2018 structure fire

On April 14 at 4:04 p.m. the Charlottesville Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire at 815 Anderson Street. 

On arrival fire crews were face with heavy fire conditions. The City of Charlottesville was also experiencing sustained winds of approximately 20 mph at the time of dispatch. The intensity of the winds contributed to the magnitude of fire damage the residence suffered.  
 
The Charlottesville Fire Department’s Fire Marshal office has completed the fire investigation. After examination of the scene, investigators determined the fire was accidental in nature. The investigators have determined that the cause of the fire was due to electrical arcing.
