City of Charlottesville Curbside Trash service 

City of Charlottesville Curbside Trash service has been suspended for today. Curbside service will resume Thursday one day off of normal schedule. The Uptown/Downtown route WILL be collected today as scheduled.

Parks & Recreation facilities will open at 10am with programs cancelled for the day

Housing Advisory Committee Meeting

Due to inclement weather, the Housing Advisory Committee meeting scheduled for March 21, 2018 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the NDS Conference Room has been cancelled.  

 

Site plan meetings rescheduled

Due to the weather forecast for March 21, to allow for full public participation, the following site plan conferences have been postponed to Wednesday, April 11, 2018.

Seminole Square Shopping Center Redevelopment

Seminole Square Shopping Center Redevelopment – Scott Collins of Collins Engineering has submitted on behalf of property owner Giant Sequel Investors, LLC a preliminary site plan application at property identified on City Real Property Tax Map 41C Parcel 3.1 (“Subject Property”) with road frontage on Seminole Court, Hillsdale Drive and Seminole Trail (Route 29). The site plan proposes to i) expand the existing commercial center by adding two (2) commercial buildings: a 6,000 SF building proposed to front on Seminole Court and a 13,000 SF building proposed to front on Hillsdale Drive; ii) building façade improvements on existing buildings; and, iii) provide parking, pedestrian and landscape improvements on-site. The Subject Property is zoned HW, EC (Highway Corridor District, Entrance Corridor Overlay). The site is approximately 18.806 acres; however, the project scope is 4.75 acres of the total site. The general usage specified in the Comprehensive Plan for the Subject Property is Mixed Use. RESCHEDULED for Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 10 a.m. in the NDS Conference Room in City Hall. Updated notifications will be mailed.

Belmont Apartments

Belmont Apartments - Alan Taylor with Riverbend Development, Inc. (applicant) has submitted a Preliminary Site Plan to construct 138 residential units and 27,000 square feet of office/commercial/retail space at 1005 Carlton Avenue and adjacent lots (Subject Properties). The subject properties are further identified on City Real Property Tax Map 57 Parcels 2000, 200, 210, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 710, 720, 730, 740, 750, 760, 770, 780, & 760. The site is zoned NCC (Neighborhood Commercial Corridor) and is approximately 5.271 acres. The Land Use Plan Map calls for Neighborhood Commercial.  RESCHEDULED for Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the NDS Conference Room in City Hall. Updated notifications will be mailed.
