Parks renaming survey released

The public is invited to share names for Emancipation & Justice Parks

Post Date:03/06/2018 12:14 PM

The City of Charlottesville would like the community's input on the renaming of our downtown parks.

A survey has been launched to receive suggestions for the downtown parks initially renamed in June 2017. The survey can be completed online, on paper in the City Manager's office or via telephone.

 Voicemail survey line: (434) 970-3109

Charlottesville City Council would like the community's input on a NEW name for Emancipation Park (formerly Lee Park) and whether to keep the name Justice Park (formerly Jackson Park) or select a new name. The names included in this survey were all ones previously submitted to the city. The names Lee Park, Jackson Park, and Emancipation Park will not be considered.

This survey will be open from March 6 to March 28, 2018.

If you have feedback or questions about this survey, please contact Brian Wheeler, Director of Communications, City of Charlottesville, (434) 970-3129 or
