Street Closures and Court Information for December 14
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - On December 14, 2017, the Charlottesville General District Court will hold four preliminary hearings related to the events of August 12, 2017.
Due to public interest, these hearings will be held in the Charlottesville Circuit Courthouse at 315 E High Street.
As a precautionary measure, there will be two limited street closures from 11:00am until 8:00pm on Thursday. East High Street will be closed between 3rd Street NE and 4th Street NE. Fourth Street NE will be closed between East high Street and Hedge Street. A detour will be in place for High Street. These closures will not cause any Charlottesville Area Transit detours. A street closure map is below.
Anyone interested in attending any of the hearings should be aware that, per a court order, no bags (including backpacks and purses) or electronic devices (including cell phones) will be allowed in the courthouse after 10:30am. The Charlottesville Sheriff or his deputies may also direct that other items they deem to be potentially disruptive or dangerous be left outside the courthouse.
