The City of Charlottesville, in partnership with the with the Charlottesville Municipal Band and the Orange Community Band, is proud to host the second annual Charlottesville Community Band Festival.
Expanded from last year's festival, this family-friendly Celebrate! 250 event will feature 700 musicians and twelve bands from across the Commonwealth onstage at the nTelos Wireless Pavilion (700 East Main Street, at the east end of the Downtown Mall, with an additional five ensembles providing musical entertainment at Central Place (110 2nd Street NE).
FREE and open to the public, the Festival will be held on Saturday, June 30 from 9:15 am to 10:00 pm.
The bands will perform a wide range of musical styles, from movie themes and Broadway, to pop and jazz tunes, to patriotic and Americana selections.
The community is invited to bring picnic lunches or refreshments (non-alcoholic beverages only) and spend the day on the Pavilion lawn or at tables underneath the canopy. Cooling fans will be provided for additional comfort.
